Woodbury Common Shops – Over 250 Premium Outlets!

Woodbury Commons, Woodbury NY

Conveniently located right off the NYS Thruway at Exit 16 are the Woodbury Common Shops. This is a huge outdoor outlet mall with over 250 shopping stores and over 20 places to eat right in the Tri-State Area.

Enjoy high-end shopping plus all of the mall staples in one place. Woodbury Commons offers a collection of the hottest stores for women, men, teens, and children at discounted prices.

What to Expect at Woodbury Commons

About 1 hour from Manhattan, you will find more than 800,000 square feet of shopping at Woodbury Commons. This outdoor outlet mall is divided into 5 sections – cleverly named Niagara, Hamptons, Adirondack, Hudson Valley, and Saratoga for easier navigation. Each section is filled with specialty clothing stores, accessories, eateries, and more. There are plenty of clean restrooms and sitting areas, plus playgrounds, vending machines, and well maintained landscaping.

Woodbury Common Shops Hours & Information

  • Woodbury Common Shops are open daily from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm.
  • There is a large parking lot when you first enter (Blue Lot) that usually offers Valet for a fee. Otherwise, that parking lot does get full very quickly. I’d recommend following Ring Road and parking in the back (Red Lot) where there are usually open spaces and a large new parking garage, including electric car charging stations.
  • There is also bussing from Port Authority to Woodbury Commons, which we will talk about further down. And of course, Uber is always an option.
  • Guest services are located within the Market Hall, along with a Welcome Center and several places to eat inside.

Woodbury Commons Stores

People often wonder how Woodbury Commons can offer so many great brands at discounted prices. Well, brands send their overstock and unsold last-season merchandise to their outlet stores and offer them at deep discounts to move it. However, the outlet stores do also carry new in-season merchandise. So, in most stores, you will find a mixture of new items plus a clearance section with special deals and sales. Stock up for other seasons while you’re there!

With over 250 stores at Woodbury Commons, many of the stores are clothing stores. It’s a wide range of clothing stores, however. You will find high-end luxury stores like Michael Kors, Balenciaga, Gucci, Armani, Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, Burberry and more. Most of these luxury stores have security guards and a limited number of people allowed in at one time, resulting in outdoor lines and wait times.

In another spot, you will find popular stores like Victoria’s Secret, Levi’s, Pacsun, and Polo Ralph Lauren. Every time you turn a corner, you will be met with a whole slew of unexpected stores, and also some kiosks, coffee shops and snack bars.

There are plenty of specialty stores for shoes, accessories, and homewares. Some of these are Nike, Pandora, Yankee Candle, Fossil, Samsonite, UGG, Le Creuset, Helly Hanson, Crocs, Zwilling, and more. With such an array of stores available at Woodbury Commons, it’s the perfect one-stop Christmas shopping destination, wardrobe overhaul, or just a great way to spend a day and score some great deals!

Restaurants in Woodbury Commons

Like the variety of shops at Woodbury Commons, there is also an array of dining options – from a Champagne Bar to McDonald’s and everything in between. A great option for a sit-down meal with indoor and outdoor seating is Parm, an Italian restaurant with favorites like chicken parmesan, meatballs, and mozzarella sticks.

In the Market Hall, there are plenty of options for everyone you are traveling with like Chipotle, Jersey Mike’s (subs), Just Salad, Cinnabon, Tony & Benny’s Pizza, and more. In the Niagara section are favorites like Shake Shack (always busy!), Kinton Ramen, and Pagoda Asian Grill by P.F. Changs.

Throughout the 800,000 square feet, you will come across many more well-known food options, like Auntie Annes, Starbucks, and Playa Bowls. You will also find snack stands with pancakes or crepes with seating nearby, and a cute bar to take a break and have an adult beverage including wine, beer, and cocktails. At Bollicine & Co you will find outdoor seating for this Champagne Bar along with oysters, burrata, salads, charcuterie boards, and more.

Some of the dining options are “pop-up” kiosk-type eateries throughout the outlet mall that will change offerings and availability with the seasons and weather. There is currently (as of September) also a Kosher foodtruck there, plus several coffee spots and ice cream spots that will change depending on the needs of consumers.

Woodbury Commons Map

Even with the maps located in each of the 5 sections of Woodbury Commons, you will get turned around and lost. It’s HUGE and confusing. Luckily, there is always somewhere to sit and get your bearings, or just go into another store and worry about it later!

There is a map here that you can zoom in and out of and gives you a whole overview of Woodbury Commons and each store there. However, it’s easiest sometimes to just use your phone gps and search stores that way. It will give you real time walking directions and get you to your destination. However, the best way to get around is really to just go – walk around, explore, find stores as you pass by. Try to go on a nice day where you can enjoy the outdoor outlet set-up and go where the wind takes you.

Tips for the Best Experience at Woodbury Commons

Bring a Rolling Suitcase

If you are seriously going to Shop-till-you-drop, bring a rolling suitcase. You can thank me later. Many people do it. It's so much easier to carry your purchases and get around, let alone load into the car or onto the bus. There is no need to worry about ripping bag handles, heavy bags, or losing a bag. So convenient!

Be Patient and Have Fun

Woodbury Commons is huge. It can be confusing and chances are you will get slightly lost. Just go with it. Give yourself plenty of time to check out all of the outlet stores and enjoy your day. Take a break and grab a snack (or a drink!) when you need to. And remember - some stores may have a line to get in so account for that, especially around the holidays!

Dress for Weather & Shopping

Wear comfortable shoes - it's a lot of walking! Plus wear shoes that are easy to get on and off to try clothing on - and don't wear a romper. Taking a romper on and off to try on items or go to the bathroom will get old quick. Make sure to wear layers, too. It's New York. Cold in the morning, warm in the afternoon. Warm in the sun, cold in the stores. You get the picture.

Important Info to Remember About Woodbury Commons

  • There are plenty of restrooms throughout (including a nursing station)
  • There are a variety of food options and lots of outdoor seating
  • You can rent carts and strollers (for toddlers)
  • Most vending machines accept cash, credit cards, google pay, and apple pay
  • There’s outdoor parking, covered parking, Valet parking, bussing, and of course Uber options
  • Most stores are open from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm
  • There is sales tax on clothing in New York (4% if a purchase is under $110)

My Favorite Things About The Woodbury Common Shops

I love the combination of stores. I can buy a high-end dress at a great price and accessorize with less expensive pieces. I end up with a mixture of things I didn’t know I needed because sometimes the deals are just so good and it may be the last time I see certain pieces.

Woodbury Commons also makes Christmas shopping a breeze because there is literally something for everyone and it’s so fun to leave with tons of bags.

I also really like all of the outdoor seating options and food options. The last time I was there I grabbed a crepe from a little snack hut (with fruit and Nutella) and a soda from a vending machine and sat in a sunny spot to eat and people watch.

I’m also always impressed with how clean the stores, common areas, and restrooms are. There is also nice music and a great vibe at Woodbury Commons.
