Things to Do in Warwick New York

The Village of Warwick, New York

Warwick is located in Orange County. It’s a great little town to spend a day with plenty of stores, restaurants, farms, and things to do!

Especially inviting in the Fall season, Warwick is home to several New York apple orchards, a repeat Farmers Market on Sundays, and multiple Wineries (even a Cidery!)

Plus, this is THE place to take a ride or a hike and enjoy the Fall Foliage over the rolling hills.

The Village of Warwick is a cute, quiet little town filled with fun events, exceptional shopping, hiking trails with spectacular views, wineries, apple orchards, pumpkin picking, fresh produce, a drive-in movie theater, delicious dining, and live entertainment. It’s even home to Bairds Tavern – where George and Martha Washington stayed in 1780, now part of the Warwick Historical Society.

From Stone Vintage is one of the thrift shops in Warwick. (There is another one nearby this one). It’s full of charming pieces, great prices, and one-of-a-kind vintage that you will love! Warwick Shopping

Frazzleberries Country Store is one of my favorite shops in Warwick, and I usually leave with something unique. It’s an adorable gift shop with the perfect gifts. The last time I found beautiful sunflower drop earrings that are just perfect for Fall. This store has a great collection of home decor items, quilted and locally made items, jewelry, Willow Tree Keepsakes, Warwick and Greenwood Lake decor and sweatshirts, caramels, candles, just so many fun things to find!

Etched in Time is a personalized gift shop, specializing in engraved gifts. This is the spot for the perfect wedding gifts, baby gifts, housewarming gifts, and more. Warwick Curiosities

Lightclub Curiosity Shoppe has tons of Metaphysical Gifts and handcrafted products. In addition, they have classes in Psychic Development and a Reiki Master Certification. They also offer books on healing and wellness, stones and gems, cool decor, incense, and of course sage – among other things. They have a whole calendar of events and some fun things planned like a Halloween Ball and a Fall Equinox celebration!

Warwick Farmers Market

The Warwick Valley Farmer’s Market is open on Sundays from 9am-2pm from May 12th through Nov. 24 for the 2024 season. It’s located in the South Street lot, behind Main Street. Have some breakfast at a nearby restaurant, check out the farmers market, and do some shopping. That’s the best way to spend a Sunday morning!

Some of their vendors include Jersey Girl Cheese (amazing mozzerella!), Perry’s Pickles, Buddhapesto (personal fave!), Blue Diamond Soy Candles, Apple Ridge Farms, Black Dirt Gourmet, Destination Unknown Beer Company, Royal Acres, and Sunrise Mountain Soap just to name a few! It’s a great turnout every week. My must-haves are a fresh loaf of sourdough from Apple Ridge Farms, Pesto from Buddhapesto, and charcoal soap form Sunrise Mountain Soap!

My favorite part about the Warwick Farmers Market is that the vendors are really passionate about what they are selling. They are proud to offer these specialties to you and will take the time to chat with you about how they make it and a little of their backstory. There’s also a face painter/balloon artist, and usually some live music.

The Best Restaurants in Warwick New York

There are a ton of great restaurants in Warwick, ranging from kid-friendly to a high-end fancy outing. There’s a huge variety of offerings too, so come hungry and try something new!

The Best Kid-Friendly Warwick Restaurants

Fetch Bar & Grill is right on Main Street and has indoor and outdoor seating. They are decked out in the cutest dog photos and paintings and have a nice laid back vibe. They offer happy hour food and drinks, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free dishes, and a kids menu – plus specials all week!

While their doggie decor is sure to make you smile, Fetch has also teamed with the Warwick Humane Society to help connect stray animals and shelter animals to loving forever homes!

Another kid-friendly restaurant is Galloway Grill, located on Galloway Road in Warwick. They offer breakfast (all day!) lunch, and dinner 7 days a week – with super friendly staff! Their ingredients are carefully selected and locally sourced, with a huge selection. (And of course, they have chocolate chip pancakes all day!)

The Best Date Night Restaurants in Warwick

For a special night, definitely try Prime 36 in Warwick. It’s a steakhouse with amazing food, great ambiance and picturesque grounds. Sit outside (though inside is gorgeous too!) and enjoy the evening with your special someone. It is on the expensive side, so just be aware before you go, but you will not be disappointed with the service and fresh food selection. Plenty of seafood, steaks, chicken, pasta, and greens!

Grappa is another great spot for a date night. Great outdoor seating and absolutely amazing Italian food. Top notch food and service – try the octopus appetizer and the filet! The pizza is also to die for…just make sure you have a reservation on a weekend, as they do get booked.

The Best Cafe's In Warwick

Cafe e Dolci on Main Street is my favorite quiet spot in Warwick. Think specialty coffees, gourmet sandwiches, tasty crepes, omelets, and croissants! Plus a delicious assortment of baked goods and amazing gelato. Don’t miss this spot – I like to take a treat upstairs and read (they even have books strewn around in the windows) and then I take a sweet treat home for my family.

Tuscan Cafe is another of my favorites. Located right on 2nd Street, it’s the perfect spot to stop by after the Farmer’s Market. It’s got a great variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with Vegan options as well. They even have amazing organic coffees, beer, wine, and mimosas! The food is always fresh and the atmosphere is always welcoming.

Cafe A La Mode also has a huge menu and something for everyone! Just walk in, order from the board, and take a seat. Someone will drop off your food and you just enjoy! There’s outdoor seating with some great people watching, nice smoothies, wraps, and pancakes. Mismatched plates and the vibe give a quintessential country cafe feel.

Tips for the Best Experience in Warwick NY

Wander Around

Sometimes the best finds and greatest memories come from accidental discoveries! Wander around main street, walk into some shops, try some snacks, and just explore the area. There are some great shops and restaurants right off of main street too!

Try Warwick Solo

Of course it's fun to go with family, your husband, your friends. But Warwick is a place that you can absolutely enjoy by yourself too. You will have the time to look around at your own pace and people are friendly enough that you won't even feel alone!

Bring Reusable Bags

Especially for the Farmer's Market, make sure you have a bag. Otherwise, you find yourself shopping in a clothing store with a container of pesto in your hand...not so fun! Not every place offers bags so just be sure to bring your own - it's much easier that way!

Important Info to Remember About Warwick NY

  • Dogs are not allowed at the Farmers Market
  • Most of the stores open at 10am and close by 6pm
  • Warwick hosts the annual Warwick Applefest each year
  • NJ Transit offers bus service between Warwick, NY and Port Authority

  • Try to plan ahead and make reservations (even for weekend breakfast) – a lot of the restaurants are amazing and fill up quickly!

My Personal Favorites

Every time I'm in the area, I have to grab some pesto (if it's Sunday at the Farmer's Market!) and check out at least Frazzleberries, The Lightclub Curiosities Shoppe, and a thrift store. There's always something new and fun. I also always leave with a sweet treat from the Candy Apple Shoppe. Or, I'll stop by Pennings and get some delicious ice cream!
